I'm on my 5th or 6th ASUS motherboard and when I have had to update the BIOS, the method (all using EZ Flash) was seldom the same. However they don't seem to be consistent in the way you update a BIOS. Just built my first computer My motherboard is the asus x88 plus apu is amd a10-7870k i dl'd the new bios and saved it on a usb drive like it ask however when i try to update the bios in the boot menu all u get is ' security verification failed' all of this with their ' asus ez flash ' which apparently is broken ASUS is always releasing new BIOS's, and generally they work. 1) download the lastest bio from Asus web to your harddisk 2) download also the rom to cap converter 3) download Brenamer from Asus web also 4) Convert the bio rom to cap file using the rom to cap converter( bef convert the rom should be a zip file, rem to extract the file) 5) Copy your Brenamer file to the same folder with bio cap file. I've repeatedly tried to update my BIOS via ASUS' EZ Flash utility in the current BIOS (5202), but it's giving me a bit of trouble: Every time I try to flash the.CAP file from the very motherboard's site, it doesn't let me and instead provides the message, 'Security Verification Failed.' I've tried three of the latest BIOS files from the site.
